Child care centers and programs across the country have served as models for how to safely accommodate in-person learning and care during the pandemic. They’ve instituted rigorous cleaning and handwashing procedures, limited traffic into their buildings and created drop-off and pick-up policies that avoid close contact.
Many use software to support their COVID-19 mitigation efforts, especially when it comes to check-in/out, when centers see the most congestion. In addition to offering a contactless daycare check-in or out experience using QR codes or GPS technology, centers are also using software to incorporate health questions into the process. Here’s a closer look at how that works using Procare Online and Procare’s Parent Engagement app.
How does it work?
Procare Online and Procare’s Parent Engagement app now enable child care centers to create a questionnaire at check-in. Centers can create questions like “Has your child had a fever in the last 24 hours?” by enabling the Parent Kiosk Form option.
Once enabled, center staff can go in and configure the form. Questions can be created to elicit a Yes/No, Multiple Choice or Text Box response.
When parents check in their child on their smartphone, they’re prompted to answer the questions.
Once submitted through the app, parents’ answers can be viewed by staff when they click on the yellow report icon within the sign-in dashboard. They can then determine any follow-up actions that need to be taken.
Can I ask other questions outside of those related to the child’s health?
Absolutely. Because these questions are completely customizable, you can ask anything you want. For example, if you have a new program you’re rolling out, you can use the Multi-Question function to gauge interest among parents.
Can I enable the Multi-Question functionality with other Procare platforms?
Yes! Procare Parent Engagement syncs with Procare Desktop, allowing you to take full advantage of this functionality. In addition, SchoolCare Works offers its own questionnaire feature. You can learn more here.
