Filling out daycare paperwork with pen and paper is tedious for busy families, both those new to your center as well as for current parents of children at your child care center.  And it’s a pain for you to input all that information into your system!

As part of Procare’s Six C’s of Connection blog series, we’ll outline below how Procare can help you and your families COMPLETE child care paperwork in a less aggravating way.

What Today’s Parents Want

In 2020, the generation known as millennials  — along with their younger siblings and children — became the majority of the U.S. population.

Millennial parents number more than 22 million in the U.S., with about 9,000 babies born to them each day, according to a recent TIME article

“This growing cohort of parents is digitally native, ethnically diverse, late-marrying and less bound by traditional gender roles than any generation before it,” the article states about this generation, usually defined as those born between 1981 and 1996.

That means millennial parents are considered “digitally native” because they grew up in the age of digital technology and became comfortable with computers and the internet at a young age.

They use their smartphones for almost everything — 80% of millennials use the internet to manage their finances and pay their bills!

So the prospect of using a pen and paper to complete a mountain of sheets of paper is not appealing to them. It’s just not how they’re accustomed to submitting information.

And they are incredibly environmentally conscious. A recent study found that 75% of millennials “are eco-conscious to the point of changing their buying habits to favor environmentally friendly products.”

How eDocuments Can Help You Run Your Business and Please Families

The eDocuments feature in Procare lets you create, format, digitally sign and store important documents all in one place. Having your documents online ensures that family and staff data are in sync and quickly available.

Use eDocuments to send and manage all sorts of documents, including enrollment contracts, incident reports, permission slips and more!

And it’s great for orientating new staff, who can complete and return onboarding paperwork and acknowledge new employee handbooks electronically!

This feature takes much of the hassle out of reminding parents and staff to complete their daycare paperwork. You can prompt them to review documents by email, and they can digitally sign a document — no need to download, print, sign, then return to you.

Documents can even be signed and returned through the Procare child care mobile app by clicking on the Documents icon at the bottom, in the middle, of the screen:

It also simplifies finding that information once you have it. Documents are conveniently stored in user profiles so they’re accessible.

With eDocuments, you’re not wasting hours entering information from hand-written forms into your computer system … that is done for you!

Save Time and Money with eDocuments!

With eDocuments, you can be confident that you have all the necessary documents for your staff, and for enrolled as well as prospective families, at your fingertips.

By using eDocuments at your daycare, you’re giving today’s parents what they want while saving yourself time and money — imagine the cost savings when you’re not buying reams of paper for forms that can be completed and returned online!
